Working, living and traveling in Asia for the past ten years with my current employer and my many years here that started in 1974 as a U.S. Marine has provided me a wealth of experience and hundreds of personal business contacts. Most of these contacts were developed in the course of my work as well as word of mouth, and yes; sharing a beer or two.
Throughout this time, I have been asked by friends, friends of friends, family members, and even total strangers for favors when I was off to some different country. Some of these favors included simple product purchases, information, and research. Over the years I just got used to these requests and never really thought too much about it.
One night while sharing a beer with my son, a third year student at Bangkok University, I told him I was looking for wholesale vendors that could provide a steady source of products to one of my friend’s retail activity. My son asked, “Why not get paid for doing this type of work.”
Well, it wasn’t a lighting bolt to the head, but it certainly was a wake-up call. Thus, the creation of Pacific Orient Inc.
Today, Pacific Orient Inc. is a father and son business that specializes in retail, consulting, and wholesale import/export to assist small to medium size businesses enter the Asian market. We have offices located in the United States, Japan, and Thailand which allows us to work directly with host nation companies on a one-to-one relationship. This positions us in the front to source a wide variety of exceptional products and services at reasonable prices, all the time!
Most important to us and our ability to continue in this business is the fact that we take pride in being responsive to all our customers and helping them to succeed in their business ventures.
